Lennart Karl had a breakout season to remember, registering 16 goals and assists (9G, 7A) and setting records as Bayern Munich’s youngest ever goal scorer. He’s now worth €60 million and is poised to take the club to new heights, but there was a period in the off-season that nearly threw everything out the window:

In the spring of 2025, FC Bayern debated Lennart Karl’s future, as he was not being challenged enough in the U17 team. There was talk of him skipping the U19 and amateur teams and being loaned out to the 2. Bundesliga or even abroad.

Despite his natural talent, no one had yet believed he could break into the first-team squad. In the end, Karl stayed and proved as early as the first few weeks of the season that he didn’t need the loan at all.

Karl already turned heads during the preseason when he scored two goals in as many games: one each against Tottenham Hotspur and Grasshopper Club Zürich. Shortly before turning 18, Karl also had a brace against Red Bull Salzburg at the start of the year. At that moment, Karl had already announced himself to the world.
