Due to the Chicago Bears’ much-improved offense in 2025-26, many overlooked the franchise’s problematic pass-rushing woes.

Chicago only recorded 35 sacks and rarely generated enough pressure to make opposing quarterbacks uncomfortable. According to USA Today’s Tyler Dragon, the Bears could improve their pass-rushing chops next season by signing a former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro edge rusher.

“(Haason) Reddick’s production has taken a precipitous decline since four straight double-digit sack seasons from 2020 to 2023,” Dragon wrote last Wednesday.

“He’ll turn 32 in September, but his 34 pressures last year would’ve ranked fourth on the Bears in 2025. Chicago needs another edge rusher opposite Montez Sweat and didn’t address their pass rush need in the draft. Chicago had the NFC’s worst pass rush win rate in 2025, per ESPN and can use a vet like Reddick to provide a boost.”

Reddick’s inability to continue fighting his way into the backfield and violently taking down QBs weekly explains why he’s currently a free agent. In other words, the 32-year-old’s edge rushing hasn’t been below average lately, as he’s only recorded 3.5 sacks the past two seasons and appears to be on a downward spiral.

Still, he’s a capable defender who logged 50 sacks in a four-year span and is definitely worth a look given his respectable track record in the big leagues. Will the Bears be the franchise to give him that look? Only time will tell.
