Broncos announce jersey numbers for draft class (Jonah Coleman didn’t take No. 5)

At last, we have rookie jersey numbers!

The Denver Broncos are kicking off rookie minicamp this week, and all seven members of their 2026 NFL draft class have now picked numbers ahead of their debut seasons in the NFL.

Notably, Broncos running back Jonah Coleman picked No. 20 after previously teasing No. 5 on social media. Coleman wore No. 1 at Washington, but that number currently belongs to tight end Evan Engram in Denver.

Elsewhere on offense, tight end Justin Joly, who wore No. 7 in college, has picked No. 80. Joly wasn’t able to wear No. 7 with the Broncos because that number is retired in honor of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway.

Broncos rookie jersey numbers

  • DT Tyler Onyedim: No. 98
  • RB Jonah Coleman: No. 20
  • OL Kage Casey: No. 78
  • TE Justin Joly: No. 80
  • S Miles Scott: No. 39
  • TE Dallen Bentley: No. 80
  • LB Red Murdock: No. 50

Fans should note that these numbers are subject to change, and it’s not uncommon for several rookies to change numbers after the 53-man roster is set. So while their initial numbers have been picked, players aren’t necessarily locked into these selections.
