The Cleveland Browns made wide receiver a massive priority during the 2026 NFL Draft.
Cleveland spent two of their three top 40 picks on receivers, as the team selected KC Concepcion at No. 24 overall in Round 1, and Denzel Boston at No. 39 in Round 2.
Concepcion and Boston represent the youth movement in Cleveland. The Browns have won just eight games over the last two years, but have a few promising young pieces on both sides of the ball, leading to questions on whether the franchise would be willing to move some of their veteran talent.
Jerry Jeudy named top Browns trade candidate
Pro Football Network’s Jacob Infante listed wide receiver Jerry Jeudy as a possible trade candidate for the Browns ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
“After taking KC Concepcion in Round 1 and Denzel Boston in Round 2, last year’s WR1, Jerry Jeudy, faces significant competition for touches. Factor in the speedy, younger Isaiah Bond in the mix, and Jeudy might have a better chance starting elsewhere,” Infante wrote.
Jeudy is coming off a down year in 2025, tallying just 50 receptions for 602 yards and two touchdowns. The Alabama product was tremendous in 2024, hauling in 90 catches for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns, so he’s capable of being an electric playmaker.
With Cleveland investing two premium picks on receivers in the draft, Jeudy has become more expendable. Trading the veteran would open the door for Concepcion and Boston to be the top two pass-catchers in Travis Switzer’s offense, and getting draft capital back for Jeudy would be a savvy move as the Brownx continue their rebuild.
Chiefs and Bears could have interest in Jeudy
As for teams that could have interest in Jeudy, the Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears come to mind.
Kansas City’s wide receiver room is in an uncertain spot, as Rashee Rice is involved in more off-the-field issues, and Xavier Worthy was disappointing in his second season in 2025.
Trading for Jeudy would give quarterback Patrick Mahomes a dynamic receiving threat with a ton of experience. Jeudy hasn’t had the best quarterback play so far in his career, but he has still been able to post a few productive seasons, so Mahomes could unlock the next level of his games.
Chicago will be relying on Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III to carry a majority of the load in the receiver room, with D.J. Moore getting traded to the Buffalo Bills this offseason. Though Odunze and Burden are incredibly talented, adding a proven commodity like Jeudy to support quarterback Caleb Williams would be a logical move by general manager Ryan Poles.
Overall, Jeudy didn’t have his best season in 2025, but the former first-round pick of the Denver Broncos has shown that he can be a reliable receiver in the right situation. Receiver-needy teams, like the Chiefs and Bears, should look to buy low on Jeudy and see if he can take their offense to new heights.
