The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Bucs still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 12 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.
The Ringer’s Todd McShay recently released the latest way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going defense as they look to improve their secondary. He is projecting them early on to land Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson IV.
McShay explains the Robinson pick, writing, “I had cornerback as one of the Bucs’ biggest needs going into the 2026 draft, but they (understandably) went best-player-available with their picks in the top 100. Getting Keionte Scott in the fourth round was great value, but they could stand to add youth and upside at the position. Robinson was named second-team All-SEC last season after tallying four interceptions (tied for first in the conference) and seven pass breakups.”
Robinson would be, essentially, the CB1 alongside the likes of Zyon McCollum, Jacob Parrish, and Keionte Scott. It would give the Bucs one of the younger, yet promising, secondaries in the NFL.
