Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos and coach Álvaro Arbeloa had a confrontation in recent weeks which led to Ceballos being sidelined and removed from the squad list against Betis, according to a report published on MARCA. Following a heated meeting in the manager’s office last Thursday, Ceballos informed his teammates that he does not expect to be called up again, per that same report.
Ceballos is almost certainly going to leave Real Madrid this summer, although his current deal expires in the summer of 2027. Betis remains the player’s preferred destination for both emotional and sporting reasons, though financial constraints may complicate a deal.
Real Madrid will have their hands full this off-season, as the club will want to address several needs. Selling Ceballos will be a priority.
