Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown was named to the All-NBA Second Team on Sunday and reacted on Twitch.
For Brown, it is his second All-NBA Second Team selection. While he had a great season, he was left surprised by the honor and commented on being selected during a livestream.
“I’m not the most liked by fans or media,” Brown said on Sunday night on Twitch. “Sometimes I use my platform a little controversially, so I’m surprised I’m on any team, let alone first or second.”
By now, all Celtics fans are aware of Brown’s comments on Twitch after the season ended and his beef with Stephen A. Smith. He has received some backlash in recent weeks, but that did not impact his status as a talented guard in the NBA. Brown, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Donovan Mitchell were the five players named to the All-NBA Second Team.
The All-NBA First Team consisted of Cade Cunningham, Luka Dončić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokić and Victor Wembanyama. It’s hard to make a case for Brown over the players who made the First Team, but it should not take away from what was one of his best seasons in the league.
