Chelsea are gearing up for another busy summer, which could include numerous outgoings ahead of the new season.
The Blues can win a piece of silverware this weekend when they take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final, live on talkSPORT.
However, they are having a Premier League campaign to forget, with the west Londoners ninth and it risk of missing out on Europe.
A number of Chelsea players have underperformed throughout the season, although the summer transfer window offers a fresh start.
And with the market reopening on June 15, the Inside Chelsea panel on talkSPORT assessed their squad in a game of ‘Keep, loan or sell’.
They previously discussed the goalkeepers and defenders but on this week’s episode, the forwards and wingers were under the spotlight.
Jason Cundy and Matisse Armani filtered through each, with around £181million worth of players being chosen to make way this summer.
Pedro Neto – Signed in 2024 – £51.4m
Cundy – Keep: “We are a team that lacks pace out in those wide areas, he is rapid. He has had an indifferent season but when he is good, he is good, we saw that against Leeds in the FA Cup semi-final.
“There are parts of the game where he, for me, disappears, I don’t like that. He can play both sides, left and right, (he’s) better on the right but can do a job on the left as well, so they’re the reasons I’m going to keep him.”
Armani – Sell: “I think I’ve seen enough, personally. I feel like there’s a clear cap on his game in terms of goalscoring, in terms of output, decision-making, he’s too inconsistent for me, and I feel like we need to improve the wide areas drastically.”
He added: “I don’t see him really doing the backup role, I feel like his importance has now been stated to a level where I think he expects to be a starter.
“Obviously (Geovany) Quenda is coming in from Sporting as well, let’s see how he does. But we’ve already got one in Estevao (Willian), Quenda coming in, he’s expected to be part of the first team.
“If I don’t clear Neto, I’m not going to have room to bring in, I think, the level of quality that we need out there.
“We need goals and we need assists, and every single season, consistently, he doesn’t put up the numbers that are required.”
Liam Delap – Signed in 2025 – £30m
Cundy – Loan: “I feel desperately sorry for him because he came with a reputation that was growing in the Premier League.
“A large chunk of money, not ridiculous money but (we) probably slightly overpaid for where he was at the stage of his career. But I feel he’s had the injury problems… (at) the Club World Cup, he looked comfortable.
“Injuries, hasn’t been able to get himself going, played in a team that largely, this season, has been up and down, and he’s played a bit of a bit-part role coming off the bench.
“It’s been very difficult for him to maintain any kind of consistency, and I’m still wondering whether there’s something in there.

“I’m not completely giving up on him yet, I know a lot of Chelsea fans are thinking, ‘Move on, I’ve seen enough’. But for me, I would loan him, and I just wonder whether Ipswich may well be that one.”
“We got him for, what was it, £30million?” Cundy added. “That’s his price, that’s good value for me, for what you were getting at that particular time.
“But I have sympathy with him because of the situation he joined, his injuries, and we’ve actually been pretty (poor)… managerial changes, he’s had three managers.”
Armani – Sell: “I genuinely don’t think he suits our style of play. It does depend who comes in (new manager) but I think, for me personally, you’re going to come up against low blocks, regardless of who takes the hotseat.
“I think he does suit more transitional teams, teams that are going to just be more direct and just go long. I don’t see us ever booting the ball up to Liam Delap and going long like that consistently.”
Jamie Gittens – Signed in 2025 – £55m
Cundy – Sell: “I have the same sympathy that I have with Liam, not been able to get himself going.
“I mean, I don’t know how many games he’s played but if he’s got to double figures, I can’t remember them. I remember the goal in the League Cup away at Wolves.
“I have sympathy, he’s had his own injury problems. I think those wide areas do need some attention, but he’d be one that I would make way for that.”
Armani – Sell: “I think if Xabi Alonso (comes in), which is the ideal situation, you maybe don’t even play with wingers.
“You play with wing-backs, you play a 3-4-3, which is what he played at (Bayer) Leverkusen. I know he went to a (back) four at Real Madrid and he’s flexible in that aspect.
“(Oliver) Glasner, if he comes up on the radar, he also plays a back three. Whatever manager we end up with… if we do end up with one that plays a back three, we don’t actually need wingers at this point.
“We just need inside no. 10’s and wing-backs… I think there’s a lot of room to be made out wide, regardless.”
Joao Pedro – Signed in 2025 – £60m
Both Cundy and Armani chose keep, with the latter saying: “That’s my keep! The first keep of the day… the attack’s not been good this season, what can I say?”
Marc Guiu – Signed in 2024 – £5m
Cundy – Sell: “He is not dissimilar to Delap, they’re kind of similar centre-forwards. I would still persist with Delap, but it does feel like Marc Guiu, for his own career, needs to move on.”
Armani – Sell: “We only paid £5m…”
Estevao – Signed in 2024 (Joined 2025) – £56m
Like Pedro, this was a simple answer for Cundy and Armani, who both agreed to keep.
Alejandro Garnacho – Signed in 2025 – £40m
Cundy – Sell: “You were buying someone who had a reputation both good and bad, depending on who you want to listen to, but also knew the Premier League.
“He infuriates me at times, how his first touch is always backwards or sideways. I’d like to see him be a little bit more courageous. We saw Jesse (Derry) make his first start, and I loved the way he took (on) the centre-half, the full-back, until he got the head injury.
“I want to see Garnacho do that, because he’s a bit predictable at times. So yeah, I think I’d probably (sell).”
Armani – Sell: “If we have one game a week, the squad doesn’t need to be as deep as well, which is looking likely… depending on the FA Cup final.”
Armani added: “I think we need to have a bit of a clear out, cleanse the squad a little bit and just maybe bring through some of the academy players as well, if we think they’ve got potential.
“Then, just add only quality in a few positions in the summer.”
Cundy is keeping Neto, Pedro and Estevao, with Delap going out on loan and Gittens, Guiu and Garnacho being sold.
Armani, however, is just keeping Pedro and Estevao, and selling all of the other five players, who cost Chelsea around £181m in total.
