Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is entering Year 3 in the NFL and has one great year and one poor year on his resume.
Yes, last season, injuries ruined Daniels’ season, but he was 2-5 as the starter, which isn’t great.
But now, a fully healthy Daniels is attacking the offseason, as fans hope they get the 2024 version of Jayden, not last year’s, as the offseason program gets underway for Dan Quinn’s team.
And for defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr, who was a guest on NFL Network, he was asked about his thoughts on Daniels this offseason.
“He has that look in his eyes that he’s ready to take over the league,” Wise Jr. said.

Can Daniels bounce back in 2026?
Absolutely, he can, as his rookie season showed his talent, but as we know, your best ability is availability, and last season, Daniels’ slender frame was a problem.
Just seven games isn’t great, and the Commanders didn’t really do much to help Daniels on the offensive side of the ball this offseason either, as Terry McLaurin remains his only true difference-maker, plus he doesn’t have three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Biadasz either.
So, you could make the case that Daniels will have to do more with less in 2026, which isn’t ideal, but he has the talent to maybe make something of it.
Which Daniels will we get in 2026? Wise Jr. thinks he knows, but time will tell.
