The NFL revealed the full 2026 regular-season schedule last week. While the opponents for each team were known for some time, we learned of the dates, international games, prime-time games and more.
Since the NFL’s official schedule release, more teams have finalized their preseason schedules. The Washington Commanders are one of those teams. The Commanders officially revealed their 2026 preseason schedule this week.
- Week 1: vs. Miami Dolphins, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. ET
- Week 2: at Detroit Lions, Aug. 22 at noon ET
- Week 3: at Baltimore Ravens, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. ET
After the schedule was released, we learned that the Commanders will also have a joint practice with the Ravens leading up to the final preseason game. Washington had already scheduled a joint practice with the Dolphins ahead of their Week 1 preseason game. That joint practice takes place on Aug. 12 in Ashburn, while the joint practice with the Ravens is scheduled for Aug. 26 in Owings Mills.
The question is, will the Commanders change how they use their starters this preseason? Washington can’t afford a slow start in 2026, with NFC East games at Dallas and Philadelphia to open the regular season.
