Current/Former Miami Dolphins Player You Would Most Like To Dine With

This past week, I asked the following question:

Which former or present Miami Dolphins player or coach would you, if given a chance, want to have a sit-down with or possibly have dinner with to ask those questions that you have always wanted to ask or just to get a chance for a nice, long conversation?

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

gertdoggy would like to join Ricky in one of his extracurricular activities.

Person: Ricky Williams Question: Could you pass the joint?

finfanfromsiam wants to ask Marino if he’s still bitter about not getting a ring.

Dan Marino, are you mad at Shula for not getting you the defense and run game to get you a ring?

heatforlife wants to know how the sauce was made.

the 1973 Miami Dolphins No Name Defense is one of only six defensive units in NFL history to lead the league in fewest points and yards allowed in a season.bill arsnparger how did u take a bunch of nobodys and make them a historic defense,

Miami7 has chatted up several Dolphins greats but still wants to have a chat with Warfield.

I’d love to meet & talk with Paul Warfield – THE reason I became a Dolphins fan at 11 and my all-time favorite NFL player. I’ve had 2 encounters/chats with Marino (one he was quite inebriated w/Jim Kelly), 1 with Shula, 1 with Zach, 1 with JT & T-Buck, spent an evening with Pete Stoyanovich & a weeks worth of workouts in Ft. Lauderdale with Mark Dennis.

Missed opportunities to meet the ‘other hero’s of my life….

Mickey Mantle (missed opp. by about 3 minutes @ Cooperstown one year to at least meet him)

Walt (Clyde) Frazier

* Did meet and play (for about 20 minutes of a practice) with Bob McAdoo

….and The 3 Stooges & Salvadore Dali

Oldarmyguy would love to have a sit-down with Bryan Cox.

Bryan Cox. Loved his intense style of play.

sdphinsfan wishes he could have had the chance to talk to the GOAT, Don Shula.

Would have to be the architect, Don Shula. No coach that I can think of ever got players to buy in to the degree he did, while also being flexible enough to alter his approach to the game to maximize the talent that he had to work with. Just seems like a great life story…Plus, I just have to know….What was the whole Tom Olivadatti thing? Did he have secrets on you?

PA phinphan would love to ask Duhe about one of the greatest performances in Dolphins history.

I would want to sit down with AJ Duhe. I would ask him about the Mud Bowl and how it felt to pick off not one, not two, but three Jests passes in one game and return one for a TD.

OldFinFanDon wants to ask Marino what he would have done if he had more say over the construction of the roster back then.

Dan Marino. I would want to know, if he had more influence in the draft, which running back would he have drafted.

Ash the Elder just knows that Ricky would show up with the good stuff.

Ricky Williams. At least he would bring some good smoke to the conversation.

Ksphinfan would like to ask Nathan what it was like to play for two of the greatest coaches of all time.

Tony Nathan just to see what it was like to play for both Bear Bryant and Don Shula…the 2 best football coaches of all time

Phoenix6 is going to angle for a free meal from Zach.

Zach Thomas

Dinner, restaurant, he’s paying.

“What is the biggest physical or mental adjustment you had to make to survive your rookie season?”

“What was THE [Welcome to the NFL] moment you experienced as a player?”

Molly Polly II missed the opportunity to talk to two greats together.

Shula and Marino…..no questions tho, just wanna hear any of the secret ballgame stories we never had access to or heard in the news!🐬🐬🐬

UpInPensacola just wants to finish the conversation he began at the stadium.

Thomas Hollywood Henderson.

Before his final game with the Dolphins vs KC in preseason in the early 80’s the defense was warming up in the west end zone. I yelled at Hollywood.

“Hey Hollywood! You’re good!”

He turned around and smiled big, yelling back, “I know!”

Later that night he had a neck injury and never played again.

I’d like to finish that conversation over a dinner.

Flipper72 has a few they would like to chat up.

Cannot pick one

Bob Griese and Larry Csonka.

Would have to ask them about the good old days and the alligator that was put in Don Shula’s shower!

What that undefeated season felt like.

I know you didn’t say coach but Don Shula

Also Joe Rose!!

And so many more.

Well, that’s a solid list of former Miami Dolphins greats. Hopefully, some of you will still get the chance to at least meet some of these guys who are still with us. As always, thank you to each of you who took the time to answer our Phinsider Question Of The Day.
