With Northampton and Bath both losing in the last round as well as Saracens beating Bristol, the race for the play-offs shows no sign of reaching an early conclusion.
There are just three rounds to go, yet six teams still remain in the hunt for the top four spots.
Seven points now separate Exeter in fourth and Saracens in sixth, and there are only five between Saints in first and Leicester in third, with who takes the top two places and the crucial home semi-final spots also still very much undecided.

Northampton v Bristol (Friday)
Northampton have made six changes as they look to bounce back from a bruising defeat by neighbours Leicester when they welcome Bristol (19:45 BST).
The league leaders, who have not lost at Franklin’s Gardens in more than a year, welcome back England lock Alex Coles, who has not featured since the Six Nations due to an ankle injury.
Coles is partnered by Ed Prowse in a new-look second row, with prop Elliot Millar Mills and flanker Henry Pollock also coming into the forward pack. Centre Tom Litchfield and scrum-half Archie McParland are the other two changes.
Bristol’s injury crisis shows no sign of slowing as they saw wing Gabriel Ibitoye ruled out for the remainder of the season following last weekend’s defeat by Saracens.
Louis Rees-Zammit returns from a knock and then sickness that has ruled him out for the past three games to take Ibitoye’s place.
Rich Lane is also back from a hamstring issue to start at full-back, while James Williams and Harry Randall start in the centre and at scrum-half.
Northampton: Furbank (c); Freeman, Litchfield, Hutchinson, Hendy; F Smith, McParland; Iyogun, R Smith, Millar Mills; Coles, Prowse, Kemeny, Pollock, Chick
Replacements: Walker, Fischetti, Green, Van der Mescht, Pearson, Graham, Mitchell, Dingwall
Bristol: Lane; Rees-Zammit, Janse van Rensburg, Williams, Ravouvou; Jordan, Randall; Genge, Thacker, Kloska; Dun, Batley, Owen, Harding (c), Grondona
Replacements: Gwilliam, Woolmore, Lahiff, Taylor, Ivanishvili, Marmion, Moroni, Heward
- Bears without injured Ibitoye for up to four months
- Late change no excuse for Saints defeat – Dingwall
Bath v Newcastle (Saturday)
After falling to their third loss in a row in all competitions last weekend, Bath have made 10 changes for the visit of Newcastle.
Tom Dunn returns to an all-new front row alongside Thomas du Toit and Beno Obano.
Ted Hill switches to the second row to partner Charlie Ewels, the latter who is set to make his 200th appearance for the club, while Josh Bayliss, Guy Pepper and Miles Reid complete a new-look back row.
Chris Harris then partners Will Butt in the midfield while Santiago Carreras starts at full-back.
Newcastle have not beaten Bath in the league since 2021 and, similarly, have made sweeping alterations, mostly to their pack, as they look to recover from a 76-17 hammering at home to Harlequins.
Prop Connor Hancock makes his first Prem start with tighthead Murray McCallum also coming into the front row.
Freddie Clarke and John Hawkins pair up in the second row, while Fergus Lee-Warner starts for the first time in three games at number eight with Adam Scott at flanker.
Harrison Obatoyinbo starts on the wing in place of his brother, Elliott, who misses out with a hamstring injury, and Rhys Beeckmans comes into the centre.
Bath: Carreras; Cokanasiga, Harris, Redpath, Arundell; Russell, Spencer (c); Obano, Dunn, Du Toit; Hill, Ewels, Bayliss, Pepper, Reid.
Replacements: Frost, Van Wyk, Sela, Molony, Underhill, Carr-Smith, Ojomoh, Barbeary.
Newcastle: Hodge; Obatoyinbo, Beeckmans, Arnold, Hearle; Connon, Benítez Cruz; Hancock, McGuigan (c), McCallum, Clarke, Hawkins, Scott, Christie, Lee-Warner.
Replacements: Fletcher, Clark, Brocklebank, Hodgson, Mafi, Elliott, Grayson, Wade.
Harlequins v Exeter (Saturday)
After being thrashed 38-0 in the reverse fixture in October, Harlequins will be looking to make amends against Chiefs in another showpiece outing at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, knowing victory also keeps them in the fight for a Champions Cup spot next season.
The hosts have made just two changes to the side that ran in 12 tries against Newcastle Red Bulls last week.
Zach Carr replaces Jonny Green in the second row, while Jack Kenningham comes in for Seb Driscoll at flanker as Quins look to seal back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
Exeter’s win against Bath on Sunday “flipped” the season on its head, according to their boss Rob Baxter. They are now just four points off Bath and could go second this weekend if results went their way.
Baxter has stuck with the status quo and named an unchanged starting XV, although star England wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso returns from a head injury and comes onto the bench.
Harlequins: Benson; Anderson, Northmore, Bradley, Murley; Smith, Friday; Hobson, Riley, Delgado, Carr, Williams, Cunningham-South, Kenningham, Dombrandt
Replacements: Musk, Wenger, Streeter, Green, Driscoll, Evans, Porter, Isgro
Exeter: Woodburn; Brown-Bampoe, Slade, Ikitau, Ridl; Skinner, Varney; Sio, Norey, Iosefa-Scott, Jenkins, Zambonin, Hooper, Tshiunzu, Vintcent
Replacements: Dweba, Burger, Tchumbadze, Tuima, Worley Brady, Cairns, Haydon-Wood, Feyi-Waboso
Saracens v Gloucester (Saturday)
Having been 16 points off the play-off spots in March, Saracens are now just seven behind Exeter in fourth, thanks to three consecutive Prem wins.
Flanker Theo McFarland – who confirmed he would be leaving the club this summer – and prop Rhys Carre return to the starting XV in the only changes for Sarries as they look for another win to firmly keep them in the top four race ahead of the final two rounds.
Gloucester are also enjoying a spring upturn in results and come into the game after back-to-back Prem wins for the first time this season.
They have made just one change, as captain Tomos Williams, who is moving to Saracens next season, misses out against his future club after going off with a shoulder injury against Sale last weekend and is replaced at scrum-half by Caolan Englefield.
Saracens: Malins; Caluori, Tompkins, Hartley, Segun; Burke, Bracken; Carre, George, Street; Itoje (c), Isiekwe, McFarland, Earl, Willis.
Replacements: Dan, Mawi, Clarey, Tizard, Michelow, Van Zyl, Farrell, Elliott.
Gloucester: Barton; Joseph, Llewellyn, S. Atkinson (c), Loader; C. Atkinson, Englefield; Rapava Ruskin, Blake, Fasogbon; Clark, Alemanno, Thomas, Venter, Trenholm.
Replacements: Innard, Bleuler, Knight, Eite, Gwynne, Clement, Austin, Edwards-Giraud.
- Barton proud of how he ‘stuck at’ full-back role
- Saracens’ Caluori targets England summer Test debut
Sale v Leicester (Sunday)
England back-row forward Tom Curry makes his first appearance since injuring his calf on Six Nations duty in March.
He returns at number eight to a Sale Sharks team showing four changes from the side that lost at Gloucester seven days ago.
Raffi Quirke starts at scrum-half in what will be one of his last Sale games before moving to Newcastle Red Bulls; James Harper is in at prop, and Luke James comes in at centre.
Team news is straightforward for Leicester Tigers as there are no alterations from the side that won the East Midlands derby against Northampton Saints last time out.
There is a 100th Tigers appearance for prop Joe Heyes, while flankers Olly Cracknell and Hamish Watson are included on a six-two forwards’ bench.
Victory at CorpAcq Stadium could be enough to secure Leicester their top-four spot with two rounds still to go.
Sale: Carpenter; Roebuck, James, Ma’asi-White, O’Flaherty; Ford, Quirke; 1 Opoku-Fordjour, Longstaff, Harper; Van Rhyn (c), Bamber, Vermeulen, Dugdale, T. Curry.
Replacements: Austin, McEachran, Bell, Andrews, Kelly, Warr, Davies, Reed.
Leicester: Steward; Radwan, Wand, Bailey, Hassell-Collins; O’Connor, van Poortvliet; Smith, Blamire, Heyes, Martin, Chessum, Liebenberg, Reffell, Moro.
Replacements: Clare, van der Flier, Hurd, Henderson, Cracknell, Watson, Whiteley, Kata.
