Derrick White wins NBA Sportsmanship Award, becomes second straight Celtics player to earn the honor

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White is the 2025-26 NBA Sportsmanship Award winner, the league announced Thursday. The award has been presented annually since the 1995-96 season, when Joe Dumars became the first to win it — fittingly, the award now comes with the Joe Dumars Trophy.

The award recognizes “a player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court,” per a league release.

Last year, then-Celtics guard Jrue Holiday won the award.
