The Los Angeles Dodgers are back-to-back World Series champions, and their recent decade-plus of dominance is well understood by everyone in baseball.

The reality, though, is that the Dodgers have also been one of MLB’s best franchises for a long, long time — so long that this four-game losing streak they’re on is actually historic.

It’s actually quite remarkable. Baseball is about consistency over a long season, and the Dodgers have done that just about as well as anyone over a long, long time.

This run of play has been a bit concerning, to be sure, but L.A. clearly still has a really talented roster, and this will probably end up looking like a blip.

And hey, at this point, pay attention. The Dodgers may not have another stretch like this for 90 years.
