The Los Angeles Dodgers made a roster move ahead of their series finale against the Atlanta Braves, sending right-hander Paul Gervase back to Triple-A.
In a corresponding move, the Dodgers selected the contract of right-hander Wyatt Mills.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts alluded to a roster move directly after Sunday’s game.
“We’ll probably make another move to get another arm, so that’ll be a little more coverage as well,” Roberts said when asked about his bullpen heading into the series finale.
The Dodgers’ bullpen has been heavily used over the past three games, having pitched 18.1 of the last 24 innings.
Gervase came up to the majors following Tyler Glasnow’s move to the injured list on Friday, and made one relief appearance for the Dodgers since then. He pitched three one-run innings against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, pitching the final three innings of the game after Edgardo Henriquez came out.
The 6-foot-10 right-hander came to the Dodgers via trade at the deadline last season, and has made two appearances for the Dodgers since. His sole outing in 2025 saw him allow a run through two innings of work, during which he struck out two batters.
Has Wyatt Mills Pitched for the Dodgers this Season?
Mills signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers in 2025 after being released by the Boston Red Sox, and spent all of last season in the complex league afterwards.
The Dodgers started him off in Triple-A this season, and he has a 3.26 ERA through 19.1 innings with 28 strikeouts.
Despite solid numbers in the minor leagues throughout his career, Mills hasn’t quite been able to put things together at the top level. His last MLB appearance came in 2022, and he has a career 6.21 ERA in the bigs.
19 of his 38 appearances in MLB came with the Seattle Mariners between 2021 and 2022, and the other half came with the Kansas City Royals in 2022.
Mills will look to make his first MLB appearance in nearly four years on Sunday, where the Dodgers will look to bounce back from another low-scoring loss—this time against the Atlanta Braves. Justin Wrobleski gets the ball for the Dodgers to start the game, but Mills will be fresh if he needs to come in later. First pitch for the series finale comes Sunday at 1:10 p.m. PT.
