An image of the New England Patriots’ third-year quarterback jogging during a voluntary offseason workout has fans admiring the physical gains he’s made in the offseason. Maye looks like he’s been hard at work adding some muscle this spring.
The 6-foot-4 and 225-pound signal-caller appears to be leaning into his frame and improving his potential to be more physical with the ball in his hands. It could make him tougher to tackle when he escapes the pocket and more of a weapon in quarterback sneak situations.
It might also help improve his durability on the football field.

The Patriots uploaded the above image, along with several other images from the team’s voluntary workout, on the offical team website.
Maye experienced a breakout year last season, earning his first All-Pro nod and finishing second to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford in the NFL MVP race. He also helped lead the Patriots to their first AFC East title, AFC championship and Super Bowl berth since Tom Brady was the quarterback.
