Duke softball must win twice against Arizona to claim the Durham Regional championship on Sunday, May 17 from Smith Family Stadium.
First pitch for Duke’s rematch against the Wildcats is set for noon ET on Sunday, with an if necessary Game 2 to follow at 2:30 p.m.
The No. 12 nationally seeded Blue Devils (41-15) fell 10-1 in a five-inning run-rule loss to the Wildcats on Saturday before bouncing back with an 11-1 run-rule win over Marshall to earn a spot in the regional championship. Arizona opened the tournament with a 7-5 win over Marshall before its win over Duke on Saturday.
The winner of the Durham Regional advances to play the winner of the Fayetteville Regional. That regional is led by No. 5 overall seed Arkansas along with Fordham, Washington and South Florida.
