At this rate, the Falcons will have their rookie contracts sorted quickly.

The team made official Friday that they’ve signed third rounder Zachariah Branch, fourth rounder Kendal Daniels, sixth rounder Harold Perkins Jr., and seventh rounder Ethan Onianwa. That’s four out of their six picks, in addition to the belated announcement of their crop of undrafted free agents.

That means only second round pick Avieon Terrell and sixth rounder Anterio Thompson remain to be signed; both players are dealing with injuries Kevin Stefanski indicated were not major deals and will be held out of rookie minicamp practices. Terrell and his brother, A.J., are also unfortunately dealing with the tragic loss of their aunt in an accident yesterday.

With rookie deals nearly done and rookie minicamp kicking off, we are inching closer to Falcons football in a new era. I have plenty of questions and concerns about this team, but I can’t wait, even so.
