“Not everybody that doesn’t practice or gets a pro day is on the injury report; that happens all the time,” White explained to reporters. “She wasn’t listed on the injury report earlier because we expected her to play.”

Still, Clark’s unexpected bench-warming caught fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse unaware, with the arena sporting more empty seats than usual.

The star guard’s absence sparked discussion on social media as to whether Clark is truly injured, being load-managed, or possibly even suspended.

Video showing the former Iowa standout vociferously arguing with an assistant coach during Sunday’s win against the Seattle Storm was widely circulated on social media.

Just five games into the season, Clark’s health is taking center stage, coming off a sophomore effort in which she only played 13 games due to a groin injury.

During a preseason game against the Dallas Wings on April 30, the Fever star gave fans a scare after she sprawled on the ground after banging her knee “really hard.”

Despite the ongoing speculation, on Wednesday night, Clark was seemingly unbothered.

Just before the game, she was seen eating an Uncrustable on the bench while smiling and waving to her teammates.
