Ten have accepted invitations to the fourth edition of the National Golf Invitational.
The postseason collegiate event, which is equivalent to the NIT in college basketball, is scheduled May 22-24 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
Presented in partnership with Golfweek, the 2026 NGI will feature 10 college teams competing in a 54-hole stroke-play tournament. There is one returning team from the 2025 field – Rhode Island– with nine others hoping for a chance to claim a postseason title.
In May 2022, the NCAA announced it would allow schools to play in one season-ending event. By July 2022, the inaugural National Golf Invitational was created in a partnership between Golfweek and Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, with Golfweek’s Lance Ringler serving as the Invitational’s tournament director.
Ohio State won the 2025 edition of the NGI.
