Former Georgia QB celebrates rare athletic feat outside of football

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray remains the SEC’s all-time leading passer, but he’s moved on from a brief NFL career from 2014-2017. Murray is an ESPN college football analyst and also is a speaker and consultant. Murray is still a great athlete and is celebrating another incredible athletic accomplishment.

Murray participated in the IRONMAN 70.3 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The former Georgia quarterback successfully completed a half IRONMAN in five hours and 44 minutes. A half IRONMAN is a triathlon that is composed of 1.2 miles of swimming, 56 miles of biking and 13.1 miles of running, which is 70.3 miles total.

“One of the hardest things I have ever done!” Murray said via social media after completing his first IRONMAN 70.3. “Could not have accomplished it without an amazing team behind me! Thank you all. Not done yet!”

Murray thanks his family and those who have helped him train for the grueling endurance race. He also added that he’s aiming to do a full IRONMAN next, which is 26.2 miles of running (a marathon), 2.4 miles of swimming and 112 miles of biking.
