Las Vegas (6-3) defeated Los Angeles (4-5), 79-69, on Tuesday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. 11,178 were in attendance for the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup game.
Former Lady Rae Burrell started for the Sparks and played 33 minutes. She led Los Angeles in scoring with 22 points. Burrell converted 8-of-14 field goal attempts, 2-of-4 three-point attempts and 4-of-6 free throw attempts.
She also recorded one rebound and one assist.
Las Vegas center A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 25 points. Former Lady Vol Janiah Barker did not play in the contest for the Aces due to a coach’s decision.
Burrell played at Tennessee from 2018-22. She appeared in 110 games, including 47 starts, and averaged 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 22.6 minutes per contest. At Tennessee, Burrell was named to the 2021-22 USA TODAY Preseason All-America Third Team.
She was selected by Los Angeles in the first round of the 2022 WNBA draft (No. 9 overall).
Barker was selected in the second round of the 2026 WNBA draft (No. 29 overall) by Las Vegas. She played for the Lady Vols during the 2025-26 season.
