Former LSU baseball pitcher Anthony Eyanson climbed the ranks of the minor leagues over the last week. He got promoted to the Double-A level within the Boston Red Sox organization.
Eyanson started the season in High-A with the Greenville Drive. After an exceptional start to his first full season of professional baseball, he got the call up to the Portland Sea Dogs. Eyanson is days away from his first Double-A start.
Through three starts in High-A, Eyanson led all South Atlantic League pitchers with at least one start with a 0.41 WHIP. His 0.73 ERA ranked fourth over the same stretch. The right hander racked up 18 strikeouts without allowing a walk and only continued to get better.
Eyanson lowered his ERA to 0.44 five starts into the season. Through 20.1 innings pitched, he totaled 34 strikeouts. He hasn’t allowed a run since his first start on April 4. Now, he’s headed to Maine and the Northeast Division of the Eastern League.
The Red Sox selected Eyanson with No. 87 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft. He helped lead LSU to its second national championship in three years.
