FSU softball outfielder to enter transfer portal

FSU softball outfielder Addie DeLong is entering the transfer portal. The sophomore announced the news Monday on social media.

DeLong played in one game in 2026 for FSU, serving as a pinch runner and stealing a base before she suffered an injury early in the year that ended her season. She played in 55 games as a true freshman in 2025, hitting .333 in 30 at-bats with one double, one triple, and two RBI. She stole six bases and was expected to have a bigger role this season.

She is the first FSU player to publicly announce their plans after the end of the 2026 season. She included in her announcement that she will have three seasons of eligibility moving forward.

DeLong is from Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and was one of the top members of FSU’s 2024 signing class. She was ranked as the No. 25 overall player and No. 3 outfielder by Softball America.

She is the first player that FSU has lost to the transfer portal since 2024. The Seminoles, who had just two seniors last year, are expected to bring back the vast majority of their roster as they gear up for a 2027 season that will see them return nearly all of their production from 2026.
