Former US soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo has played on the sport’s biggest stages. The World Cup. The Olympics. Solo is a champion and ranks playing in TST, The Soccer Tournament, up there with the best of the best.
“It’s one of the best experiences of soccer I’ve ever been a part of,” she said.
When Solo participated in TST 2025, it was the first time she competed at any level since 2016.
“This tournament will bring people out of the gate that never thought they’d be pulled back in,” she said.”
For Solo, it’s not just about the sport. It’s personal, too.

“I was so proud in the end because somehow, someway I got it done,” Solo said. “My kids were really proud.”
The 44-year old lives in the Asheville area with her husband and two children.
“I looked pretty cool for them,” Solo said.
In one of her team’s matches, Solo saved a penalty kick. Solo FC made it to the quarterfinal round in 2025. She says TST reignited her love for the game.
“Just being around the youth, just being around these players with so much drive and passion again,” she said.
Solo FC will have two teams at TST 2026. A women’s team and a mixed team. Each group has a chance to win the $1 million cash prize.
Solo plans to play and function as her club’s general manager.
“You can’t turn it down because it truly does bring people together,” she said.
TST 2026 will take place at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary from May 27 to June 1.
