Indy 500 past winners: Who’s won the prestigious race over the years?

The Indianapolis 500 is the pinnacle of IndyCar, with the elusive Borg-Warner Trophy being every driver’s dream.

Across the race’s 109-year history, 76 have taken the checkered flag. The list cuts down significantly for repeat winners.

Helio Castroneves, who’s racing this afternoon, is one of four drivers to have won the Indy 500 four times. The driver of the No. 06 Dallara-Honda can take sole position of No. 1 with a win today. His last victorious effort at The Brickyard came in 2021.
