In the last two days, the NBA has delivered incredible basketball and even Arkansas Razorbacks head coach John Calipari feels refreshed about the sport so much that he wants the college basketball season to start tomorrow.

The NBA Conference Finals are going on. The OKC Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs to level their series. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks rallied back to overcome a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter and win against the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime. The Knicks took a 2-0 lead after defeating the Cavs again on Thursday, 109-93.

On Thursday, with no NBA fixture scheduled, Calipari commented about the exciting NBA playoffs going on. He took to X and wrote:

“After watching these two games the past two days, I am ready to start coaching my group! Wish we were starting tomorrow!!!!!! Lets goooo.”

Calipari is in the middle of his recruiting season while also enjoying the NBA playoffs at this time of the year. Both the conference finals are still in the early stages. But like Calipari, many fans are expecting interesting games to follow.

John Calipari Reunites With Shai-Gilgeous Alexander

John Calipari would be feeling really proud seeing two-time NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dominating the big stage this season. The Thunder guard led the team to an NBA championship last season and this year he is already in the Western Conference Finals.

Ahead of WCF Game 2 against the Spurs, SGA got a familiar boost before tipoff. He reunited with Calipari, who helped shape his basketball journey at Kentucky. Calipari was in attendance at Paycom Center and shared a pregame moment with his former player.

SGA was one of Calipari’s greatest recruiting wins. Gilgeous-Alexander initially committed to Florida before the head coach flipped the highly touted guard to Lexington. In his only season at Kentucky, coming in 2017-18, SGA averaged 14.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds before declaring for the NBA Draft.

The interaction couldn’t have come at a better time. Despite putting up 24 points and 12 assists in Game 1, SGA’s Thunder couldn’t survive Victor Wembanyama’s 40-20 performance.

As it turned out, with his former college coach in attendance, SGA led Thunder to a victory against the Spurs to tie their series 1-1. In the 122-113 win, SGA had 30 points, four rebounds and nine assists.
