The Colorado Buffaloes have made a late addition to their roster ahead of the 2026 college football season. JUCU defensive lineman Malachi Brown committed to them on Saturday, according to Allen Trieu of Rivals.
Brown picked the Buffaloes over the Kansas Jayhawks and FSU Seminoles. The 6-foot-3, 314-pounder is from Milpitas, California, and will bolster the interior of Colorado’s defensive line. He officially visited Boulder on April 30, which is when they extended him a scholarship offer.
He is ranked as the No. 70 overall JUCO prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 10 defensive lineman.
Colorado is red-hot on the recruiting trail, and Brown is the fourth player to commit to them this week. They have also landed four-star safety Gabe Jenkins, three-star edge Ba’Roc Willis, and three-star cornerback Will Rasmussen, who are all 2027 prospects.
Brown is the 20th member of Colorado’s 2026 recruiting class, and the fourth along the defensive line. He joins edge rushers Domata Peko Jr. and Sam Gadie and defensive lineman Joseph Peko. The class is ranked as the 67th-best in the country and the 15th-best in the Big 12 by Rivals.
