After dropping the first two games of the series, the Houston Rockets will be desperate for a win when they host the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 3 on Friday night.

It’s an enormous game for Houston, as no team in NBA history has ever come back to win a series after being down 3-0.

Kevin Durant ‘questionable’ for Game 3 vs. Lakers due to left ankle sprain

Given the significance of the game, the Rockets are hopeful that they’ll have the services of star forward Kevin Durant, who is listed as “questionable” on the official injury report due to a left ankle sprain.

This is a new ailment for Durant, who was dealing with a right knee contusion during the first couple games of the series. Durant missed Game 1 due to the knee injury and he was initially listed as questionable for Game 2 before ultimately being cleared to play.

Durant played 41 minutes in Game 2 and tallied 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He also had 9 turnovers as he struggled mightily with double teams that the Lakers sent at him.

Moving forward, Durant vowed to be more aggressive with his offensive approach against L.A.’s aggressive defense.

“When two, three people are on me and I shoot, we can get an offensive rebound. … I’ve got to shoot more of those and put my teammates in better position,” he said, adding, “I’ve just got to be more aggressive and look to score no matter where the double team is coming.”

Durant will have an opportunity to increase his aggression in Game 3, assuming he plays.
