Is Kyle Larson running the Indy 500 this year?

NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson has attempted the famed “Double” the last two years.

For now, he’s done trying.

Inclement weather disrupted both of Larson’s attempts at the 1,100-mile slog, and his highlight among the four total races was an 18th-place finish in the 2024 Indy 500. The two-time Cup Series champion didn’t run a single lap in the 2024 Coca-Cola 600 and wrecked out of the 2025 race.

Because of the immense logistical challenge of traveling from Indianapolis to Charlotte for two races in one day, Larson will not be pulling “Double Duty” this year.

“I dont have any desire to do the ‘Double’ again,” Larson told Frontstretch last June.

With Larson not running the “Double,” Katherine Legge is taking the mantle. The British driver is the lone driver running both the Indy 500 and Coke 600 this year, and she’s the first woman to ever pull “Double Duty.”

Larson, meanwhile, heads into the Coke 600 eighth in the Cup Series standings.
