Jacob Misiorowski outduels Tatsuya Imai, pitches 7 scoreless innings in shutout of Astros to finish May with 1 run allowed

The last time Tatsuya Imai made a start, his Houston Astros pitched MLB’s first no-hitter since 2024.

Sunday was Jacob Misiorowski’s time to shine — again. The Brewers’ starter outdueled Imai in seven shoutout innings to lead Milwaukee to a 2-0 win. The shutout was the fifth in six starts for the second-year flamethrower, who finished May having allowed just one run in 38 1/3 innings pitched.

Misiorowski’s gem on Sunday lowered his 2026 ERA to 1.65 and keeps near the top of the early-season Cy Young race in the National League.

It also spoiled a second straight standout start for Imai, who allowed two runs in six innings while tallying the highest pitch count (110) of his brief MLB career.
