When it comes to the upper echelon of quarterbacks in the NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars star Trevor Lawrence isn’t in that bracket for some.
After a 13-4 season in 2025, it appears Trevor, under new coach Liam Coen, threw for 29 TDs and just 12 interceptions along with 4,007 passing yards, easily the best return of his career overall.
But that does make Lawrence one of the best quarterbacks in the league? Or to be considered elite?
That is a good conversation starter, and for Trevor’s teammate, Arik Armstead, it’s time to start mentioning Lawrence among the elite quarterbacks of the league.
“100 percent, he should be in that conversation,” Armstead said on Good Morning Football via NFL.com. “The steps that he’s taken this year to improve. A big area for me and what solidified it for me was that Denver game on the road.
“I think he showed how elite he was in that game and really all season. He made phenomenal, highlight plays.

Can Jags replicate 2025 form?
It doesn’t matter how good your team is; winning 13 games in back-to-back seasons is tough, and the Jaguars didn’t exactly do themselves any favors regarding improving the roster over the offseason.
But with Coen in his second season as head coach and his second guiding Lawrence, there’s every reason to suggest that the Jaguars will again be among the AFC’s elite.
Of course, this is all a projection, and it only takes one injury in training camp or early in the season to prove assumptions wrong.
But right now? The Jaguars appear to be well-equipped to be among the contenders in 2026, with Lawrence leading the way.
