Jamal Musiala sees parallels between his and Lennart Karl’s breakthroughs at Bayern Munich

Ever since Jamal Musiala made his senior team debut for Bayern Munich in 2020, it has only gotten better for him (save for that nasty ankle injury). Bayern apparently weren’t satisfied with just one, so it produced another academy graduate in the form of Lennart Karl who tore it up for the Bavarians this season. The 23-year-old saw similarities between him and his junior when they made their respective breakthroughs.

“Yes, and I love to see it,” Musiala said (Bundesliga as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “As a young player, it is tough to come into a team like this. The confidence that he shows on the pitch is different from other young players. With the quality and everything that he has, he definitely shows it. He is going to keep taking steps and be a big part of the team.”

Karl’s excellent performances this season has earned him a (likely) call-up to the German national football team for the incoming World Cup.
