McClain was last seen in action at the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships, which took place in Fort Worth, Texas. She delivered a dominant performance in the championship, scoring an impressive 9.9500 on the uneven bars, where she anchored the rotation flawlessly. Days after concluding the 2026 season, she shared a video on social media, opening up about all the check-ups, surgery, and the medical scans she had to go through after the season. Warning the parents who want to enroll their children in gymnastics, she said:

“If you ever think about putting your kids in gymnastics, watch this video because it’s been a month since the season ended, and I’ve had an ankle MRI, an ankle CT scan, an ankle surgery, a shoulder MRI, an elbow MRI, a wrist MRI, and I still have to get a neck MRI, a neck CT scan, a chest MRI, and I’m on the way to get. A gallbladder ultrasound and blood work and I’ve already gotten blood work a couple of weeks ago and I still have wrist surgery to go. So just rethink before you think about doing gymnastics,” said Konnor McClain.
