Arsenal have been handed a timely injury boost ahead of their next game after Eberechi Eze was spotted in training this morning. The Gunners attacker was withdrawn against Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was sweating on his fitness. However, Eze is fit and available and is expected to feature when the North London club take on Atletico Madrid in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday.

Kai Havertz was not seen in training after he was also taken off the Magpies and it remains to be seen whether he will be available for the Gunners’ next Premier League game at home against Fulham next Saturday.

Jurrien Timber was also not spotted in the Arsenal opening training session this morning and is unlikely to feature against Atletico. The Gunners are aiming to play in the final of the Champions League for the first time since 2006, and a win in Spain tomorrow will be huge ahead of next Tuesday’s return-leg.
