The 2026 Western Conference Finals were one of the best series in recent history, as it had two upstart teams battling for a spot in the NBA Finals. Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs got the best of the Oklahoma City Thunder in seven grueling games.
After the Spurs won Game 7, Wembanyama was quite emotional. He was crying after the win, releasing all the emotions he felt throughout the series. It was an amazing moment, but it seems Kevin Garnett is not a big fan of that.

Throughout his career, Garnett was also quite an emotional player. However, it was not often him crying, but him showing his passion for the game and got victories.
Wembanyama has shown that he cares about the game so much that it shows in his emotional reactions. He is unafraid to be candid with his reactions, which is why he was quite emotional after Game 7 in Oklahoma City.

Despite the happiness shown during the post-match reaction, it seems Garnett is not a big fan of what transpired in OKC after Game 7. He feels Wembanyama should not be that emotional after the Western Conference Finals victory.
“He was crying in the Western Conference Finals. That was too emotional for me. He’s got four more games to get; you gotta go through the NBA Finals. You gotta be even-keeled right now,” Garnett said about Wembanyama on Ticket & The Truth.
It is an interesting reaction because Garnett was one of the people Wembanyama turned to in the summer of 2025. Wemby will probably consider this feedback due to their prior relationship.
While Garnett brings up valid points about having more games to play, it is difficult to fault Wembanyama’s emotions. It was a tough series against the Thunder, and to the Victor goes the spoils.
