Lexie Hull’s 2026 WNBA season might already be off to a bumpy start.
Hull did not play in either of the Indiana Fever‘s two preseason games as she nursed a hamstring injury. It cast doubt on whether she would be ready to play Saturday, when the Fever open up the regular season on Saturday at home against the Dallas Wings.

Hull is a fan favorite in Indiana, which re-signed her in free agency last month to a two-year contract. She averaged a career-high 7.2 points in 2025 and bumped that average up to 10.3 points per game in the playoffs, where the Fever made a surprising run to the WNBA semifinals amid a wave of injuries to Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham and others.
Amid speculation as her to her injury status though, Hull told the media on Tuesday that she is expecting to play against the Wings in a star-studded season opener come Saturday.

“We’ll see how much I get to play, but (I) definitely feel good and ready to be back,” Hull said, hinting that she will be on a minutes restriction.
Hull described her hamstring injury as “tightness” at this point, and it sounds like something the fifth-year guard will be able to play through.
