The 2026 NFL Draft is finally here, and teams will be looking to bolster their roster with some of the top collegiate talent from across the country.
The first round of the draft kicks off Thursday night in Pittsburgh out of Acrisure Stadium, where it’s expected to be an intriguing Night 1 with plenty of speculation about teams looking to trade up or back, a predicted run on offensive tackles and perhaps some unexpected selections along the way.
Right now, the Houston Texans are slated to pick No. 28 overall on Thursday evening when the 2026 NFL Draft begins in Pittsburgh.
They could end up moving up into the early 20s for the right player.
They could move out of Round 1 like they did last season, allowing a team like the Arizona Cardinals to move up for a quarterback like Alabama’s Ty Simpson, similar to how last season they let the New York Giants select Jaxson Dart.
But for now, let’s just say the Houston stands pat for 27 picks and then is on the clock. They could go offensive line, defensive line, or even a surprise at wide receiver. But the big question that fans want to know right now what time they will see Roger Goodell take the stage to announce the pick.
