The Texas UIL softball playoffs have reached the semifinals, and the Lone Star State has its share of top-ranked contenders battling for a shot at the national title.
Three Texas teams, in fact, occupy the No. 2-4 slots in the latest edition of the MaxPreps national rankings. That includes the No. 2 Lake Creek [Montgomery] Lions, No. 3 Melissa Cardinals, and No. 4 Barbers Hill [Mt. Belvieu] Eagles.
That Barbers Hill squad is firmly in the national title conversation, but they’ll need some help. But they can help themselves Thursday night by finishing off the Leander Lions.
Game time is set for 7 p.m. EST/6 p.m. CST local.
