LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier’s NFL Draft nightmare gets dream ending

The 2026 NFL Draft did not go as planned for former LSU Tigers star quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. Nussmeier, who was once considered a potential top pick, was plagued by injuries during his final season leading the Tigers, which severely impacted his draft stock.

Nussmeier fell to the end of the seventh round, before his free-fall was stopped by the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was a perfect ending to a nightmare scenario for Nussmeier, who will now have a great opportunity to compete for a roster spot in Kansas City as Patrick Mahomes recovers from a torn ACL suffered last season.
