While John Cena may have hung up his wrestling boots, the multi-time WWE Champion has recognised the efforts of Chad Gable this week.
Anyone who follows Cena’s Instagram should be aware that his posts are often pretty vague, and as he says in his bio, ‘These images will be posted without explanation, for your interpretation’.
But the latest post of Gable following his recent match with Ludwig Kaiser has caught the eye of many fans, with a number now calling for the former American Alpha member to be given a proper push in WWE.
Fans call for Chad Gable to be given a WWE push
Since arriving on the main roster, Gable has never really been booked as a main-event talent and was sent to AAA as a result.
However, after he suffered an injury, Ludwig Kaiser took over his El Grande Americano gimmick.
Once Gable was fit again, the duo faced off in a mask versus mask match for AAA this past Saturday.
Kaiser came out on top and will now keep the El Grande Americano character moving forward.
But after Cena posted a photo of Chad on his knees in the ring following his defeat, many fans want to see him get a push or even win a title in WWE.
One fan wrote in the comment section on the Instagram post: “If this man still doesn’t get the push to the world title level, it’s over for WWE.”
“Push Gable to the top! Goats recognise goats,” stated a second.
Another commented: “Greatest wrestling match I ever watched, I wish Gable got such a push in WWE.”
A fourth added: “He can go in the ring, he’s super underrated on the mic and just an overall workhorse for the company for probably a decade now. He needs a singles title, it’s time.”
Another pleaded: “Cena, if you can hear me, please pull some strings and get Gable a main event push.”
“Deserves a major push,” another fan responded, while a sixth claimed: “Need to see Chad Gable for WWE Championship or AAA World Championship. He deserves it.”
Another went as far as to suggest: “Gable deserves to be a WWE world champion, not only Intercontinental, WWE CHAMPION.”
JBL calls Chad Gable the ‘best wrestler in the world’ after Ludwig Kaiser match
But Cena and the fans are not the only ones to recognise Gable following his latest match.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio recently, former WWE superstar JBL went as far as to say he’s the best wrestler in the world.
JBL stated: “I think Chad Gable’s the best wrestler in the world. And I don’t think it’s close.
“That was absolutely amazing, what he and [Ludwig] Kaiser did.”
Exactly what is next for Gable is unclear, but fans would no doubt love to see him back on WWE TV and competing near the top of the card.
