Trinity Christian senior Tyler Ellis is the new Florida Times-Union Boys Athlete of the Week for Northeast Florida high school sports for the 2025-26 season, covering the week of May 18-23, 2026 in the Jacksonville area.
Lining up at first base in the Florida High School Athletic Association final four, Ellis batted .571 and whacked three doubles to help Trinity Christian to the Class 2A state championship.

As a pitcher, the left-hander went 6-0 with a regular-season leading 0.62 ERA, striking out 53 batters in 34 innings against elite opposition inside and outside Florida. At the plate, he batted .274 with seven doubles, two home runs, 19 RBI and an .829 OPS. He has signed to play college baseball at the University of Florida.
He placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Drake Batts (Ridgeview football), Zion Green (Raines football), Tucker Henderson (Ponte Vedra football), JC Rosette (Clay baeball) and Camden Tietze (Bolles football).
