It had not appeared that Michigan football was in it for any 2027 five-stars, despite one of them vehemently protesting. Now, said recruit is putting his money where his mouth is.
Cornelius (N.C.) William Amos Hough five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson told Ethan McDowell recently that he didn’t understand why more people weren’t talking about the Wolverines in his recruitment, and many recruiting insiders didn’t give the maize and blue much of a chance. However, according to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong, Michigan holds a lot of cards when it comes to what he’s looking for.
So much so, Dobson changed his official visit plans, canceling his plans to see perceived favorite LSU in favor of coming to Ann Arbor for the weekend of June 12.

Texas A&M is also heavily involved for the nation’s No. 6 recruit (per Rivals). Here’s the scouting report according to Rivals’ Cody Bellaire:
Technically refined corner prospect with rare top-end speed and physical build. 6-foot-1, 180-plus pounds with over a 6-foot-5 wingspan. Excellent weight distribution throughout his frame. Can run with anyone on the field. Ran 10.78 in the 100m during his sophomore track season. Explosive and fluid athlete with tremendous change of direction. Very calm footwork and patience in coverage. Does an excellent job locating the football and playing through the receiver’s hands. Needs to continue developing physicality in run support, but is extremely advanced in cover ability.
Michigan currently has one cornerback committed to the 2027 class in Riverside (Calif.) Notre Dame four-star Darius Johnson, who made his pledge to the maize and blue on Monday.
