The New England Patriots have been linked to A.J. Brown in trade rumors for most of the offseason, and Milton Williams commented on his former teammate.
Although nothing is official yet, many experts expect Brown to be a member of the Patriots before the season begins. Williams was asked about Brown and spoke highly of him.
“Definitely,” Williams said when asked if he has to resist asking the Patriots to trade for Brown amid rumors. “You see the noise. Shoot, helluva player. He can definitely help our team. But they don’t pay me to do that.”
Williams went on to describe what type of teammate Brown was as well.
“Great dude,” Williams said. “Monster on the field. Great in the locker room. Holding guys accountable. Holding himself accountable. Feel like everything you want in a player of his caliber.”
Even though there is no guarantee Brown will be traded, signs point to him playing elsewhere next season, and the Patriots seem to be the favorites to land him. Not only did the Eagles trade for Dontayvion Wicks in the offseason, but they also traded up to select Makai Lemon in the first round of this year’s draft.
They seem to be preparing for life without Brown. Mike Vrabel coached Brown with the Tennessee Titans and the two have a strong relationship. Brown also grew up a Patriots fan and has hinted at a desire to play for the team in the past. He would be a great addition to the offense, but for now, fans can only wait and see if a trade happens.
