Monaco’s Caio Henrique attracts interest from FC Barcelona

AS Monaco’s Caio Henrique (28) is reportedly attracting interest from FC Barcelona with a view to a potential transfer, according to UOL.

In their search for a full-back with a similar profile to João Cancelo (31), the Blaugrana are said to have identified the Brazilian as one of the alternatives to Marc Cucurella (27), the Catalan club’s top target, but one deemed too expensive. The name of Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo (30) has also been mentioned.

Contacts have even reportedly been made between the Monaco player’s representative and Deco, Barça’s sporting director. Monaco believe that a fee of around €15 million could be enough to release Henrique from his contract, which runs until 2027.

Having started in 29 of the 34 matches he has played in all competitions, the Santos-born player has provided two assists since the start of the season. With five caps for Brazil, Henrique is expected to be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the World Cup in the United States.
