MPSSAA spring state championships moved to May 25, here’s the new schedule

The MPSSAA Baseball, Softball, Tennis and Track and Field State Championships have all been moved to Monday, May 25, due to impending weather conditions.

This includes the state championship games for Mardela’s softball team and Stephen Decatur’s baseball team, which were previously scheduled to play on Saturday afternoon.

Here are the new schedules for the MPSSAA’s spring state championships:

Baseball: Ripken Stadium, Monday, May 25

  • Class 1A – 10 a.m.
  • Class 3A (Stephen Decatur vs. Sherwood) – 12:30 p.m.
  • Class 2A – 3:30 p.m.
  • Class 4A – 6:30 p.m.

Softball: University of Maryland, Monday May 25

  • Class 1A – 10 a.m. (Mardela vs. Boonsboro)
  • Class 4A – 12:30 p.m.
  • Class 2A – 3 p.m.
  • Class 3A – 5:30 p.m.

Tennis: Wilde Lake Tennis Club, Indoor Courts at Long Reach and Columbia Association, River Hill High School, Howard High School, Monday May 25

  • All 4A and 3A Consolation and Championship matches will be played on Monday, May 25, 2026.
  • All 1A and 2A state quarterfinal, semifinal, consolation, and championship matches will be played on Monday, May 25, 2026.
  • Matches will begin at 9 a.m.

Track and Field

  • Day 2 of the Track and Field Championships has been moved to Monday, May 25, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. 
  • All four classifications will compete using the same schedule of events originally published for Day 2 championships.
