One NBA Draft analyst believes Michigan State has a future lottery pick on its roster for next season.
There has been a ton of focus on the upcoming NBA Draft and what Spartans star point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. is going to do — stay in the draft or return. But there’s another Michigan State guard that was listed as a potential lottery pick by one scout / analyst: incoming freshman Jasiah Jervis.
KJ of KJScouting posted their early 2027 NBA Draft Top 30 Big Board, with Jervis landing in the top 10 of his list. KJ has Jervis as the No. 9 player on the big board, and was the highest of any other Spartans that could have been included on the list.
Jervis comes to Michigan State with a lot of hype as a fringe five-star prospect. He is ranked as the No. 6 shooting guard and No. 31 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2027 class. He is the top prospect in a Michigan State class that ranks top five nationally.
Anytime you’re considered a fringe five-star or high-end four-star prospect, there’s a chance you’ll be a one-and-done prospect. So this high praise for Jervis from KJ shouldn’t come as a surprise. But it’s still notable to see considering Michigan State is in position to return an already very talented team and will be possibly adding a NBA lottery pick as well in Jervis. This really could be a special team if all the pieces come together as we hope they will.
