Michigan State football is continuing to push hard for a big-time offensive lineman in the 2027 class, with the prospect stating the Spartans are one of his top schools.
The Spartans staff has been active this week on the recruiting front, making visits to numerous top priority targets in the 2027 class. That included four-star offensive lineman Caleb Johnson of Noblesville, Ind., who Michigan State offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan and offensive line coach Nick Tabacca visited this week.
Johnson spoke with 247Sports insider Corey Robinson this week, where he stated he feels “really good” about the Spartans heading into his official visit in late May. He also stated Michigan State is one of his top schools as he gets close to the end of his recruitment.
Johnson has a recruiting rating of 91.53 in 247Sports composite system. He ranks as the No. 22 offensive tackle and No. 2 player from Indiana in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 214 overall prospect in the class.
Johnson holds offers from more than 20 schools, but it appears Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa and Cincinnati are the favorites in his recruitment at the moment. Each of those schools have official visits lined up with Johnson across the next month or two, and I would anticipate he’ll ultimately end up at one of those schools in the end.
