DE Myles Garrett had a historic season for the Cleveland Browns in 2026. While the star defender requested a trade in the previous offseason, a big contract extension led to the single-season sack record and another Defensive Player of the Year award.
Garrett’s route to the Hall of Fame, even if he didn’t like the “Cleveland to Canton” line, has been well paved by his impressive nine-year career, so far, where he’s accumulated 125.5 sacks, 149 tackles for loss, 239 QB hits, 23 forced fumbles, 18 pass deflections, and six fumble recoveries. Garrett’s 23rd sack jersey already arrived at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and now the full display is in place, honoring his amazing 2025 season:
According to Pro Football Reference’s Approximate Value, Garrett is tied for the 212th-best career, has the 22nd-best career of all active players, and has had two of the top 150 seasons of all time. The all-time leader in AV belongs to QB Tom Brady, a number Garrett will likely never touch, but the star defender could find himself inside of the Top 25 with a few more quality seasons.
All of that is true, and Garrett will not turn 31 years old until near the end of the 2026 season.
