Nebraska baseball falls in Coaches Poll after weekend struggles

Nebraska baseball came in at No. 24 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll rankings published on Monday morning.

The Huskers struggled this past weekend. They were swept by Ohio State in Columbus. This was the first series sweep of the season for the program.

The numbers attested to Nebraska’s struggles on the scoreboard. They scored five runs the entire series and were outscored by a 19-5 margin. These results greatly impacted their chances of posting an NCAA regional. It is still a possibility, but it is now an uphill battle.

Even still, the program has had a strong season. They currently sit at 34-14 and 17-7 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska will look for the comforts of home as they take on Iowa in the final series of the regular season. This could be a chance for them to get back on track as postseason play begins.
